Jim is the CEO of international car cleaning franchise, Nanotek. Jim originally qualified as a veterinarian, before completing a Masters in Business Administration. Jim has held senior positions with multi-national companies such as Mars, Merial and Nestle, culminating in the role of Marketing Director (Specialist Channels) for Asia, Africa and Oceania for Nestle Purina prior to co-founding Nanotek in 2004.

In only eight years Nanotek has grown Nanotek into an international multi-award winning franchise system with operations in over 15 countries establishing itself as the no.1 car washing and detailing franchise in the world.

Some of Nanotek's recent awards include: #30 ranking in the 2012 BRW Fast Franchises list, #3 ranking in 2009 BRW Fast Franchises list, 2009 Emerging Franchisor of the Year (Runner Up), 2008 FCA Franchise Export of the Year, 2008 Australian Business Awards for 1) enterprise 2) service excellence 3) environmental sustainability, and 4) international trade, and 2008 Best Services Retailer - National Retail Association, 2008 NAB Top Franchise Award (Smart Company Awards), 2008 BRW "Fast 100" & 2007/2008 BRW Fast Starters "Top 100", 2007 & 2008 SmartCompany50 winner, 2007 FCA Emerging Franchise System of the Year (NSW/ACT).

Jim was elected to the Board of the Franchise Council of Australia in 2009 (and was re-elected in 2011) and in 2011 took on the Education portfolio and a seat on the Advisory Board of the Franchise Academy. Jim is also a regular speaker at both Australian and International Franchise Conferences and events.

Jim sees the FCA as a playing a pivotal role in raising the profile of franchising in Australia and creating opportunities for Australian franchise systems in global markets. With franchising set to boom in the wake of the global financial crisis, the FCA provides franchisors and franchisees with the credibility and impact of a common voice and a united representation.
