Alicia is a Principal in the Dispute Resolution and Litigation team at MST Lawyers acting both for franchise systems and for franchisees.
She is an Accredited Specialist in Commercial Litigation in Victoria and Queensland, a Nationally Accredited Mediator and a panel mediator including for the Office of Franchising Mediation Adviser, the Victorian Small Business Commission and IP Australia.
Since 2015 she has been a committee member of the ACCC Consultative Committee for Small Business and Franchising and since 2017 a committee member of the Resolution Institute's Special Interest Group Mediation (Victoria) which provides me with a unique perspective and understanding on matters affecting the franchise sector.
Alicia previously served for 4 years as a State chapter committee member on the Queensland chapter of the Franchise Council of Australia (FCA) until her relocation to Victoria, where she has enjoyed attending Victorian functions and getting to know Victorian FCA members.
Phil Chapman, Lease1
Phillip has not only represented Retailers in their retail lease negotiations, exceeding business savings in excess of $20 million annually, but is also responsible for major reforms in Retail Shop Lease Legislation including the introduction of Landlord Disclosure Statements, Release of Assignors and Lease Assignment Reforms and move recently the Early Determination of Market Rents. Phillip sits on the industry advisory committees for various Retail Shop Lease Codes of Practice and Legislative Reviews. He is the author of the Retail Lease Digest and contributor to industry papers such as Pharmacy Guild Rental Report and Small Business White Paper.
Lorelle Porter, Vicinity
Lorelle is Senior Legal Counsel at Vicinity Centres, a major retail shopping centre landlord. Lorelle is currently a member of the Retail Lease Transactions team, which is responsible for the negotiation and documentation of specialty leases across the Australian portfolio. Lorelle has acted for major landlords and tenants in lease negotiations over the course of her career in house (in Abu Dhabi and Australia) and in private practice. Lorelle's current role includes assisting with tenancy disputes and development matters.
James O'neill, Leasing Manager, Chatime
James O'Neill is a property management and leasing professional with 10 years of experience across multiple retailers ranging from Telecommunications, Beauty, Food and Beverage and Mechanical Workshops. As well as strategic planning & portfolio management, James advises on site acquisition, design and optimisation, retail tenancy mix, prime location selection and leasing.
