VIC/TAS Breakfast: Election Results - Impacts on the Franchising Sector and Small Business in Australia

Election Results: Impacts on the Franchising Sector and Small Businesses in Australia

After months of speculation, Australians finally know when they will head to the polls.
Join us to discuss the results.

Australia has voted; with either a new government in play or more of the same, we will discuss what this means to the sector and what happens next. We will be dissecting the key platforms of the new government and what this means to Small Business as well as lead an open discussion on what the first 100 days could look like.

About the Keynote Speaker:

Steve Murphy

Steve Murphy has more than 25 years' experience in reputation and crisis management and financial communications at both strategic and tactical levels for corporate and government.

Steve has also advised several Government Departments including Family and Community Services in NSW and Premier and Cabinet in Victoria on various issues including restructuring and communications strategy.
Prior to his move into the private sector, Steve was a career journalist. He was Director of Communications and Strategy for former Victorian Premier Jeff Kennett with oversight of the $24 billion privatisation of Victoria's gas and electricity assets and the Government's debt reduction program. He was more recently Chief of Staff to former Premier Denis Napthine.

Steve was a member of the Australian team advising Rio Tinto on its $40 billion takeover of Alcan and the $20 billion sale of Coles Myer to Wesfarmers.
Steve has advised the Board of 7-Eleven Australia on business, regulatory and legislative reform and provided strategic communications advice to the executive teams at Telstra, Woolworths, Shell Australia and Rio Tinto. He has also led regulatory change preparedness for AirBnB and provided government relations advice to a range of private sector investors involved in the National Disability Insurance Scheme.
