Planning for and Participating in Mediation

- Must Do's from a Mediator's Perspective

This roundtable will provide a practical perspective of what needs to be undertaken prior to participation in a mediation to maximise the prospect of a negotiated outcome.

It will discuss case studies of what conduct facilitates resolutions and what conduct impedes resolutions.

The roundtable will also provide attendees with recommendations from a mediator's perspective for participation in the mediation.

By attending this session you will:

  • Improve your understanding of the parties' role in the medaition process.
  • Gain knowledge about techniques or conduct which will maximise the prospect of resolution of disputes.
  • Discover options for parties participating in the mediation process.

About the Facilitator:

Alicia Hill, Principal, MST Lawyers

Alicia is an Accredited Specialist in Commercial Litigation, a NAMS Mediator, graded Arbitrator, a commitee member of the ACCC Small Business and Franchising Advisory Committee and the Resolution Institute Mediation Special Interest Group (Victoria), as well as FCA QLD-NT Chapter Committee member.

Alicia practices in the resolution of disputes and can provide perspective from the franchisor, franchisee, legal representative or mediator view point.
