HR Issues: Dealing with the Fair Work Act,
the Fair Work Ombudsman and your people

Find out what you need to know and do, day-to-day, to protect your business.

Facilitated by Michael O'Shaughnessy, Principal HR Specialist, HR Central, this session will help you to;

  • Understand what the Fair Work Ombudsman is looking for when they visit your premises -  the minimum requirements you should have as an employer,
  • Learn about basic termination mistakes - what can you do to minimise potential unfair dismissal claims,
  • Should you have HR policies? Where are they kept and what should you include in them?

About the facilitator:

Michael O'Shaugnessy, Principal HR Specialist, at HR Central. 
He has worked both nationally and internationally with leading organisations including McDonalds, Glaxo Smith Kline, Bowens Timber and Hardware, Coles Supermarkets and VECCI.  Michael analyses, advises and resolves all issues HR, especially with regards to Performance Management and Measurement, Terminations, Redundancies, Contracts, Policies and Compliance.

He has spoken at numerous Industry events, including facilitating panels, and has conducted workshops and advisory sessions.  Michael also contributes feature articles for many publications.
