VIC Roundtable 26/02/2013

Modern Awards vs EBA – What you need to know

This Roundtable will focus on the benefits of implementing an enterprise agreement regime within a franchise system.

In addition to displacing modern award coverage, enterprise agreements standardise tailored conditions of employment for staff employed by a franchisor and its franchisees.

Other benefits include:

  • consistencies within a franchise system;
  • improved portability of staff within a franchise system;
  • greater understanding and compliance with workplace relations matters;
  • reduction in complaints lodged by staff within a franchise system; and
  • greater protection of the franchise brand.
Facilitator, Alexandra Klimovics, Senior Associate at MST, will share her experiences in implementing enterprise agreement regimes specific to franchise systems, and will also discuss typical issues faced by employers when confronting modern award conditions.
