ACCC Investigations - what you need to know

Peter van Rompaey of HWL Ebsworth Lawyers will be facilitating a discussion on 'ACCC Investigations - what you need to know'.

The ACCC is very active in relation to complaints from consumers and businesses about franchising, having received over 500 complaints in 2010 alone. Investigations by the ACCC for breaches of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 and the Franchising Code of Conduct can have serious consequences for individuals and businesses. Peter will discuss practical steps that those involved in the franchise industry can take in order to respond appropriately to ACCC action.

Peter has more than 35 years experience providing advice in commercial law and franchising. He offers technical expertise in matters including franchising and licensing, competition and consumer law, and ACCC compliance, and has provided trade practices advice for large groups relating to pricing issues and collective bargaining, Section 155 notices, related notifications and communications with ACCC.

Facilitator: Peter van Rompaey
Venue: HWL Ebsworth Lawyers, Level 26, 530 Collins Street, Melbourne
