NSW Roundtable 14/03/2012

Legal Update -
The Personal Property Security Act 2009 and Restraints of Trade

This is a great opportunity to learn and discuss two important legal issues which are impacting many franchisors.

The new PPSA regime is up and running, so this will be an interactive session to discuss how the new laws affect your system or your franchisees. If you supply products on credit, lease equipment or take a form of security over your franchisees business this is a session not to be missed.

The Courts, have recently shown a reluctance to enforce restraints of trade against former franchisees or directors of former franchisees in circumstance where they have been operating a competing business, sometimes from the same location.

We will discuss some of the recent cases and analyse what makes a restraint enforceable and discuss tips and strategies about what can be done by franchisors and franchisees to protect themselves from a person unlawfully competing with their business.

This session is most suitable to CEOs, senior franchisor executives, franchise owners and franchise consultants.

Facilitated by Sean O'Donnell and Mark Hamwood, both of whom are experienced franchise and litigation lawyers.

This Roundatable will be held at Thomsons Lawyers, Level 25,  264 George Street, Sydney

Venue: New South Wales
