SA Breakfast 03/04/2012

The Past and Future of Franchising

Come along to our next breakfast to hear from some veterans of the franchising industry to talk about how franchising has changed and evolved over the years and how they see franchising into the future.
This is a great opportunity to learn from their experience and to network with your peers.

Panellists include:

Rob McKay, Chief Executive Officer, Australian Retail Franchise Group

After spending more than 15 years working outside of South Australia in various leadership and retail marketing roles, Rob returned home to Adelaide in 2010 to raise his young family. Rob was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Australian Retail Franchise Group (the parent company of Wendy's). During this time Rob has taken a hands-on approach to this role personally visiting over 230 of the 270 franchisees throughout Australia and NZ.

Prior to his role at Wendy's, Rob was based in Sydney as the Vice-President of Marketing for Asia Pacific and Africa for Italian eyewear manufacturer Luxottica (parent company of retail brands like OPSM and Sunglass Hut, and product brands like Ray Ban and Oakley).

Carly Thornton, Franchise Development Manager, Jim's Diggers

Carly manages the Jim’s Digger Division nationally and provides support to franchisees from the days they join the group right up to the day they sell their business. She has over 15 years experience working as a Senior Manager for a large chartered accounting practice assisting clients operating a vast range of franchise systems. Her expertise in providing pro-active and professional business and taxation advice means that franchisees have access to a highly experienced Chartered Accountant and Business Advisor to assist them to manage, grow and improve their business.  As the Divisional Franchisor her role includes recruitment, systems development and growth, franchisee support plus much more.
