FCA response to Privileges Committee Report

Written on the 26 March 2018 by Franchise Council of Australia

FCA statement in response to Privileges Committee Report

"Mr Billson has previously recognised his administrative error and oversight in not providing timely notification of changes to his register of interest prior to the parliament being dissolved and has formally apologised to the House for this failure.

The FCA and Mr Billson demonstrated that during the weeks when Mr Billson's widely publicised appointment as a Director and Executive Chair overlapped with the end of his term as a MP, there was no improper influence, advocacy, lobbying or impact on the free performance by Mr Billson of his parliamentary duties, and welcome the Committee's conclusion that 'no finding of contempt could be made'."
