FCA congratulates winners of the Ford & Doonan FCA WA Excellence in Franchising Awards

Written on the 11 May 2017 by Franchise Council of Australia

Western Australia franchisees celebrated success at the Ford & Doonan FCA WA Excellence in Franchising Regional Awards.

The Franchise Council of Australia (FCA) honoured WA franchising's best on Monday at the Ford & Doonan FCA WA Excellence in Franchising Regional Awards for 2017. Celebrating at the Parmelia Hilton, winners of the night included Tony Campbell from Poolwerx who won Field Manager of the Year and Kate Longman of Finn Finance Brokers who took home the coveted Franchise Woman of the Year Award.

"Winning this award means the world, I'm really humbled and really appreciative with the recognition for the things that we do and I just love being part of franchising and just want to continue that in the future" said Kate.

Field manager of the year Tony Campbell from Poolwerx understands that owning a small business is challenging and it can affect every part of people's life and their family's life "As a Field Manager I'm able to work very closely with people not only to celebrate the wins, but also work through the more challenging areas and get good outcomes. It's a privilege thing to do." Tony added.

Other winners of the night included Ryan Willsher, from Finn Franchise Brokers, who won Franchisee Community Responsibility & Contribution as well as Multi-Unit Franchisee of the Year, Preeti Soni and Bindya Patel from The Coffee Club, Single Unit Franchisee of the Year two or more staff, and Bradley Hill, V.I.P Lawn & Garden Maintenance winning the Single Unit Franchisee of the Year less than two staff.

Finn Franchise Brokers took home three awards this year and were pleased to be part of the celebration on Monday evening. "The franchise community is a really close-knit community in WA and both Kate and I really enjoy being part of it, on a business level and social level"
Ryan noted.

For award winners Preeti and Bindya from The Coffee Club, the most rewarding part of being a franchisee is team building and the relationship they have with their customers. "Because we were new to this country we decided franchising was the safest option. It attracted us, because it was already tried, tested and proven."

Entering the Excellence in Franchising Awards allows you to really assess your current business plan and for Bradley a new business owner from V.I.P. Lawn & Garden Maintenance, this was an opportunity for him to evaluate where he wants to take his business next. "Being a seasonal business, you're busier during the warmer months than you are in the colder months. So, in the next six months I'm reassessing where I'm at, where my family is going and planning for growth."

Following their success, all winners have qualified as finalists for the MYOB FCA National Excellence in Franchising Awards. The Gala Dinner will be held at the RACV Royal Pines on Tuesday 10 October at the culmination of the National Franchise Convention (NFC17).
