Carn repeats NAB FCA Franchisee of the Year success

24 July 2012

The Franchise Council of Australia honoured franchisees and support staff from across South Australia on Friday night at the NAB FCA SA Excellence in Franchising Awards.

Winners included Jason Rasiah from Hudsons Coffee named Franchisee of the Year (two or more staff), Mark Carn from ActionCOACH who won Franchisee of the Year (less than two staff) with Franchisee Community Service going to Richard Whittaker from Bakers Delight.

Rose Vis from V.I.P. Home Services and a SA State Chapter Committee member, won a special award to recognise her contribution to the sector.

“It was a big surprise. I am very humbled. I think it’s amazing – you don’t realize the little things you do mean a lot. It’s beautiful to have that recognition from the people I work with,” Rose said.

Jason Rasiah from Hudsons Coffee was looking forward to sharing the award with his staff.

“I think they’ll be elated as well. I can’t be in the position that I am without the loyalty and dedication I have from my staff,” he says.

It is a repeat success for Mark Carn from ActionCOACH, who also won the award for Franchisee of the Year (less than two staff) in 2011.

“I think everyone should enter the awards. It helps the industry and all the franchisees to grow and get better,” Mark says.

Cheryl Haywood of RAMS Home Loans also won a merit award on the evening for Franchise Woman of the Year. The merit recognised her incredible start in the industry as the first franchisee for the brand in South Australia.

“(To be recognised by my peers) really means a lot. It’s definitely not been an easy road. It’s something I can look back on and be proud of where I am and what I have achieved.” Cheryl says.

All winners now qualify as finalists for the NAB FCA National Excellence in Franchising Awards to be announced at a Gala Dinner held at the Canberra Convention Centre on Tuesday 9 October.
