All applicants, other than franchisees, should be an employee of an organisation directly linked to a Franchisor or Corporate Supplier Member of the Franchise Council of Australia. However, the FCA may take into account other interests such as service to the FCA, contribution to franchising by teaching, publishing or other relevant activities. Services to the franchise community, membership of other business associations, or achievement of special recognition by making a distinguished contribution to franchising may also be recognised. Appropriate alternative qualifications maybe recognised as a substitute to the Diploma of Franchising.

Personal Qualities

All applicants wishing to become a FCA Franchise Professional must be of good character and must supply two character references to verify.

General

Classifications and classification criteria differ for all professional associations. A specific classification in another association does not necessarily warrant a similar classification with the FCA, where criteria is focused on the franchise content of the job positions rather than technical knowledge and expertise in a variety of other disciplines.

Franchise Experience

For practising franchise professionals, primary consideration is given to the level of expertise as prescribed in position descriptions and other supporting documentation which is to be supplied with all applications.

Details of your business such as type of service, period of operation with relevant statistics of growth and development, number of employees and/or annual turnover are all supportive factors in the assessment of franchise experience.

In specialist positions not directly involved in franchise management, the nature and complexity of the type of advice given and the level of management or organisations to which it has been given, together with proven results, take on extra significance as relevant criteria.

A current CV is required for applications. A statement of sustained contribution to the sector must accompany all applications for Fellow, Honorary Member, Life Member.
