Peter Cumins

Peter Cumins  is the Managing Director of Cash Converters International Ltd and the brother of Brian Cumins, the company's founder. He joined the Group in August 1990 as Finance and Administration Manager when the Company had just 23 stores, becoming General Manager in March 1992. He became Group Managing Director in April 1995 when the Company listed on the London Stock Exchange.

Mr Cumins, a qualified accountant, has overseen the major growth in the number of Franchisees in Australia as well as the international development of the Cash Converters franchise system. The Company now has over 700 stores in 21 Countries.

Mr Cumins has also been responsible for the development of a 130 chain of company owned stores within the Cash Converter network.

Nigel Warr

In 1992, motor fanatic Nigel Warr started as a Manager with Auto Masters service centre in Northbridge. Two years later, he bought the Fremantle and Northbridge franchises. In 1996, he bought the business outright, starting with 15 franchises. To fund the venture, he borrowed money with help from a business associate, paying back the debt within a few years.

Motivated by the freedom of running his own business and the prospect of helping his franchisees make a good living, he set out to grow the business quickly. Site selection was particularly crucial to the early success of the business.

From the beginning, Nigel has personally selected every franchisee for every site, often knocking back more potential franchisees than he would approve.

In 2006, Nigel developed a multi-franchisee site operator system, enabling Auto Masters to attract owners of multiple franchisees and giving Nigel access to a pool of more professional franchisees. The quality of franchisee also improved as Nigel strengthened the Auto Masters’ reputation and brand.

Today, Auto Masters has the largest market share in Western Australia, with a multi-million dollar turnover. Nigel is also searching for another 8 locations to add to the 34 existing branches in Western Australia and  4 in New South Wales. Plans are also in place for expansion into other states via acquisition.

It is obvious that Nigel’s success is due to his passion and working collaboratively. He is always open to ideas from franchisees and has implemented a number of their ideas across the business with great results.
