NSW Breakfast 28/03/2014

Franchise Recruitment Breakfast

Following on from last year's sell out event, we recommend you book early to avoid disappointment.

Come and join franchise industry leaders to discuss the current recruitment challenges, what’s new and who is doing what? Meet the expert panel who will share their experiences, success stories, challenges  and strategies for successfully attracting and recruiting the right franchises for their business now and for the future.

Follow the breakfast with a visit to the Franchising and Business Opportunties Expo, held at the same venue.

Maria Walton is the Australian and New Zealand Franchise/Human Resource Manager for Mister MINIT, the leading service provider in shoe repairs, key duplication, engraving and watch servicing. Since joining Minit her leadership has driven the quantum rebuilding of the Brand through the introduction of a new business model of franchising recognising the critical importance of true ownership in a people based service industry.  These actions have resulted in 12 consecutive years of strong sales and market share growth with constantly improving financial returns. Maria has an extensive retail background and her qualifications include a Bachelor of Economics, and a MBA.

Nick Avgerinos has a breadth of experience in franchising having been both a franchisee and involved with franchisors in the United Kingdom, New Zealand and Australia. At age 30, Nick relocated to the United Kingdom to purchase a national master franchise. In 5 years he grew the business from 35 franchisees to over 330 franchisees, driving sales from 2 million GBP to 30 million GBP. Nick sold his UK national master franchise and returned to Australia with his young family where he put his negotiation skills to work with The Cheesecake Shop, managing property and franchisee recruitment.

The Cheesecake Shop is one of Australia’s favourite brands, operating from 200 locations across Australasia. Established in 1991, The Cheesecake Shop continues to enjoy considerable growth with the network on track in 2013/14 to post its highest number of new store openings since 1999.

Greg Tiddy, Leasing and Development Manager, Foodco Group

With more than 20 years in the franchise community, Greg brings a wealth of knowledge to this panel through his various roles. Greg began by gaining a Bachelor of Commerce at UNSW, and progressed to Restaurant Manager at Jordons Seafood Restaurant. After 5 years in this position Greg moved to Financial Controller of J&J Hoteliers Group. Two years later, Greg moved to owning his own Jamacia Blue Cafe in 1993, and became a mutli-store owner over the next four years.  In 2003, Greg became National Operations Manager for the Foodco Group. For the past six years Greg has held the position of Business Development Manager at Foodco and recruitment is very dear to his heart.
