Certified Franchise ExecutiveTM Program

  • The only internationally recognised professional accreditation program for franchise executives

  • Designed by franchise executives for franchise executives

  • Originated by the Institute of Certified Franchise Executives (ICFE), USA

How does the CFE bring value to FCA members?

The mission of the ICFE is to enhance the professionalism of franchising by certifying the highest standards of quality training and education. This career development program offers existing and aspiring franchise professionals and entrepreneurs the opportunity to grow professionally and reach a recognised standard of excellence within the local and international franchise community.

Meeting the requirements for the Certified Franchise ExecutiveTM program and completing the course of study leads to the Certified Franchise ExecutiveTM designation.

The CFE is known and respected by franchise leaders around the world and is overseen by the ICFE Board of Governors.

The CFE designation will be presented annually at the FCA's National Franchise Convention to candidates who have completed all the requirements and been approved by the ICFE Board of Governors. Graduates may use the CFE designation following the FCA Annual National Convention at which it is awarded.

In addition, candidates registered with the FCA who have completed the CFE course of study and who attend the IFA Annual Convention, will also be recognised at the IFA Annual Convention during the CFE Graduation program.

How is the CFE program relevant to the Australian franchise sector?

ICFE courses are available to FCA members online and by attending classroom programs in the US, eg at the IFA's Annual Convention.

However, whilst some of the ICFE content is "franchising fundamentals"  has application to any franchise operation anywhere in the world there is no requirement for FCA members to use CFE content originating from the USA  (refer Program Structure for more details).

The FCA Franchise Academy has arranged for the following local Australian CFE content to be included and endorsed by the ICFE Board:

  1. Nationally accredited vocational education programs delivered via the Franchise Academy's exclusive education partner
  2. Under the auspices of the FCA's Legal Committee, the Franchise Academy will deliver specialist education streams at the annual National Convention addressing local legal & regulatory factors
  3. Franchise Academy approved external education supplier courses endorsed by the ICFE Board.
