NAB FCA QLD/NT Excellence in Franchising Awards Winners Announced

July 23 2012

The Franchise Council of Australia (FCA) honoured franchisees and support staff from across Queensland and the Northern Territory Saturday night at the NAB FCA QLD/NT Excellence in Franchising Awards.

Winners on the night included Tony and Michelle Graham from PoolWerx who took out the Multi-unit Franchisee of the Year accolade and Daniel Conroy from Mister Minit who won Franchisee of the Year - less than two staff, with Field Manager of the Year going to Deb Stanton from First Class Accounts.

Other winners included Greg and Natalie Nash from Mr Rental who won Franchisee of the Year - two or more staff, Carolyn McManus from The Coffee Club who was crowned Franchise Woman of the Year and Jo and Maurie Patterson from Bakers Delight who took out the award for Franchisee Community Service.

Greg and Natalie Nash, back-to-back winners in 2011 and 2012 said the awards were a great opportunity to analyse their strengths and weaknesses.

“Just entering it is a wonderful thing to go through. It really makes you reflect and recognise achievements in your business. It’s a great way to recognise your team as well,” the couple said.

Field Manager of the Year, Deb Stanton from First Class Accounts was nominated for her award by her employers.

“We had new owners take over least year. After being in the business for nine years, it was a real honour that they chose to nominate me,” she said.

Jo and Maurie Patterson of Bakers Delight Caneland see getting involved in their community as a really positive part of their business.

“Being part of a rural community you need to look at more than what directly affects you. We’re fortunate that we really get to know our customers, so we’re really motivated to get involved and support them, because they support us,” they said.

Multi-Unit Franchisee of the Year winners, Tony and Michelle Graham were surprised with their win.

“We’re not in business to win awards. We’re in business to have fun and make some money along the way. Awards are fantastic recognition that you’re doing a great job,” they said.

All winners now qualify as finalists for the NAB FCA National Excellence in Franchising Awards Gala Dinner to be held at the Canberra Convention Centre on Tuesday 9 October 2012. Click here to register.
