About Membership

Membership of the Franchise Council of Australia is voluntary, and open to any organisation or individual involved in the franchise sector, including franchisees, franchisors, lawyers, accountants, banks, consultants, academics, publishers - plus many others.

Whether we are offering advice on best practice franchising, contributing to government policies, promoting franchising in the media or providing educational services to our members, the FCA does its part to make the sector a sustainable place to work.

Members of the Franchise Council of Australia are part of a unique association where business lessons, experience and information are shared freely. Membership means solidarity: As an FCA member you belong to an association where your peers work together for the betterment of the sector, a common method of doing business, not a common business itself.

It is this non-competitive culture of sharing that makes the FCA unique among trade associations, and this alone can repay the cost of membership many times over from a single piece of advice gleamed from a fellow member at an FCA gathering.

Membership Benefits with the FCA are both tangible and intangible. The strong foundations set by the four pillars of the FCA stem from our members, they include:

  • Education
  • Membership Services
  • Representation
  • Events

What does it mean to be a member of the FCA?

  • Credibility – This is maintained through our member standards and the Franchising Code of Conduct.
  • Professional Support – Through education programs, networking opportunities and regular events
  • Representation – ensuring your voice is heard by governments and regulators

FCA membership is an essential component in creating and maintaining successful franchising system. Many well established franchisor members of the FCA acknowledge that it is in their best interests to maintain the good name of the franchising industry. Many of whom are happy to provide “mentoring” advice to newer systems coming through.

The Franchise Council of Australia welcome franchisees to become involved in the larger issues affecting the franchise sector.  Either through their franchise systems membership or through their own personal membership.  The FCA can provide recommendations to service providers such as accountants, banks, lawyers, consultants etc. Many franchisees join the FCA to maintain and develop their professional skills in franchising along with the networking benefits which opens up many new and exciting oppourtunites.

These are just a few of the intangible, but highly valuable benefits of being a member of the Franchise Council of Australia.
