Award Definition

This award will recognise an outstanding contribution to the Australian franchising sector from an individual within the Franchising sector.
Note: This can be a franchisee, franchisor or supplier.

Award Process

  1. Review the assessment criteria below to confirm that you are willing to respond to detailed questions in these areas.
    Note: you are not expected to have contributed to all the areas listed, just to have made a significant contribution to at least two of the areas listed.
  2. Complete the online entry form and pay the application fee. Entries close 1st June 2011. Your application fee goes toward covering the administration, marketing and assessment costs associated with the Excellence in Franchising Awards.
  3. You will be sent a submission kit containing a number of specific questions to guide your submission and make the process as efficient as possible. Submissions must be received by close of business 15th June 2011. No late submissions will be accepted.
  4. All submissions will be assessed by specialist judges using predefined criteria to create a short-list of finalists. You will be kept informed of the status of your submission.
  5. All submissions will be assessed using predefined criteria. Judges may contact you to verify or clarify aspects of your submission. You may also be invited to submit additional information or material to support your submission.
  6. The winner of Contribution to Franchising will be announced at the 2011 FCA Gala Awards Dinner which forms part of the FCA National Conference.

Areas to be assessed

Career history in franchising Your experience in the franchise sector. This includes the roles you have held that are relevant to the franchising sector.

Contribution through research

Your contribution to franchising through involvement in research that has advanced knowledge within the franchise sector. This includes the research that was conducted and why and the relevance, application and impact of findings for the franchise sector.
Contribution through innovation Your contribution to franchising through the development of an innovative idea, product or service that has met a need in the franchise sector. This includes your specific role and contribution to the initiative as well as how it has benefited the sector.
Contribution through education Your contribution to franchising through enhancing the knowledge, skills and abilities of stakeholders in the franchise sector. This includes the need the educational initiative(s) met and how it has benefited the franchising sector.
Contribution through collaboration Your contribution to franchising through organising people to collaborate for the benefit of the franchise sector. This includes collaborative initiative(s) you have led or initiated as well as how it has benefited the franchising sector.
Protecting and promoting the interests of Australian franchising Your contribution to franchising through protecting and promoting the interests of various stakeholder groups in a professional manner. This includes aspects of the Australian franchising sector you protected or promoted through your work, what you did and how it has benefited the sector.
